Ever wondered how people used to communicate with each other back in the old days where social network hasn't existed yet? Let me tell you something, I bet they would say "I had a better life than you right now" These days, most of us (including me) used smartphones and simple devices in order to make friends and join group communities that are difficult to be found. Thank god that technology improved and enhance our mobile tech and we were able to get ourselves involve in almost every activity event that we have ever dreamed about achieving. Strange... technology was suppose to change us for the better in order to make our lives more convenient but it almost felt like we were being taken over by a non-living thing...
For these past few days, I went to a camp where we improve our personality. It was organized by the Shine Award Center in Taylor's University called the Shine Discovery Session. It was a free field trip for all the students who join the Shine program so I figured I could have some fun going jungle trekking and I even did the flying fox activity (it was awesome, it felt like I was flying through the air!!!). But here's the catch, if a student were to join this field trip, they will be living in an "Orang Asli" settlement for 3 days, 2 nights WITHOUT any line connection to the outside world. That means, even if you had the best connection if the whole world. You won't be able to contact or receive any transmission from your friends and family... I knew the risk and I'm sure nothing will happen for a 3 days, 2 night stay. But once I got back to KL, I can hear small continuous gun shots from miy Facebook notification and Whatsapp messages vibrating on my phone (let the scrolling began). It basically means that I was able to survive more than 48 hours of no technology from the outside world. And it made think that how much things could have happened when a mobile-addicted person had his gadgets taken away from him for more than 24 hours... He would probably go insane...
But to me, I didn't know that technology could changed us this much.... it made me remembered a video that I watched recently in my class: Z7dLU6fk9QY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7dLU6fk9QY After watching that, I think you already know what you should do. GO.
